The Islamic Community Milli Görüş NSW is deeply saddened by this most recent earthquake and extends its condolences and well wishes to families affected as well as all citizens and broader Muslim community.

The Islamic Community Milli Görüş is working in coordination with the Turkish Red Crescent and its partner organizations to reach the needy in the most efficient way.

As in the past, most notably with our campaign for the 1999 earthquake, we would like to encourage our members and friends to show their support for the disaster stricken areas of Turkey by giving generously to our new Earthquake Relief, Rebuilding, and Preparedness Fund.

IGMG Relief and Social Organisation completed this year’s Qurbani campaign successfully (NSWISCA is the NSW Branch of IGMG)

The IGMG Relief and Social Organisation was active in 53 countries and regions with its 253 volunteers and organised the distribution of the meat of 97,448 qurbanis to the needy. 14,490 qurbanis in Pakistan, 6,349 in Turkey, 5,127 in Ethiopia, 4,550 in Somalia, 3,514 in Sudan and 2,904 in Palestine only to mention a few countries of the overall campaign.

14,490 Qurbanis for Pakistan

The flood disaster which struck Pakistan in the summer of 2010 affected a fifth of the country. The interim results reported more than 2,000 flood victims, one million destroyed homes, 300 damaged health centres and thus about 20 million people in need. The first aid reached the flood victims in form of food supplies in August.

The board of the IGMG Relief and Social Organisation put this year’s emphasis for the distribution of qurbanis on Pakistan. The volunteers from Germany, England and Italy who were sent to Pakistan monitored the implementation of the campaign with 14,490 qurbanis in Kashmir, Swat, Peshawar, Punjab and Sindh.

Guildford Mosque was purchased by NSW Islamic Social & Cultural Association in June 2010 as a Church.  After the purchase the inside of the Church was converted into a Mosque by the beginning of September 2010. Since then the Mosque has been open 5 times a day for prayers and also for Friday prayer.
The Mosque consists of 15 spaces car park, a community hall, a youth room and the main prayer area.
